Highly Recommended books

Recommended books.

I've read most of the books on The Who, my recommended are

Biographies
Dear Boy - Tony Fletcher
This is one of the great biographies and goes beyond the usual "Moon the Loon " stories, and actually tries to explain Keith's character.

Amazing Journey / Who Are You - Mark Wilkerson
Most books that owe their content primarily from other media sources basically tell the same stories. This book goes beyond that, and with the input from pete and some of his inner circle it is probably the definitive Townshend biography. Pete has always been a great interview subject, but views his change over time. This book puts various Pete quotes into context, before they were altered with hindsight.

Anyway Anyhow Anywhere Matt kent and Andy Neil
Maximum RnB - Richard barnes.
In alot of ways these two books tell the same story, but in slightly different ways. They are both great reads and lavishly illustrated. For me AAA (in the large format) has the slight edge.

The Who concert guide
Although a lot of the information is available on line, it is great to have it in a book. Although there is probably more content in the second edition, I prefer the first edition.

This though does have the rider I have not read the Genesis books.
